Stanford, New Mexico Suffer Losses

Ball State upended Michigan 62-58. Michigan led by as many as 13.

Top 25 ACTION
#4 Stanford was edged by Brigham Young 55-52 at Palo Alto.

Nebraska upset #20 New Mexico 66-59. Cory Montgomery, of AA champ Cannon Falls had five off the bench for Nebraska. Amy Beggin of Roseville, MN had four points off the bench for NM.

#8 UConn beat Richmond 84-50

#10 LSU crunched Howard 88-44 and will play for the championship tonight in the Basketball Travelers Classic in Baton Rouge.

#12 Arizona State prevailed over Florida Atlantic 96-60.

Colorado State opened with a 89-72 win over UMKC. Kelly Mullaney from Breck started for Colorado State and racked up 22 points. Jowan Ortega of Wayzata had five as a starter for UMKC.

South Dakota State opened their season with a road win against Middle Tennessee State 72-61. MTSU lost to Maryland this past weekend by four and received votes in the latest AP top 25 poll.

Trinity International handed Iowa Wesleyan it's first loss of the year 68-63 on Saturday. From the Washington Evening Journal.

Morningside had a better time of it in a 67-58 win over St. Ambrose on Saturday.
