More Basketball Players in State Track

MORE BASKETBALL & TRACK
Here are more state entrants that are basketball players: (that I know about)
In the section 6AA meet last Thursday Hanna Muegge, Metro Stars Black and Hopkins, qualified for the state meet in all three jumping events. She took three 2nd places at sections in high jump with 5-5, long jump with 17-11.25 and triple jump with 36-07.25.

Her AAU teammate Laura Weber, Eden Prairie, also qualified for the state meet in the 100 m hurdles with a 15.3 time. Weber is also part of the 4x400 with a

Another AAU teammate Tina Fisher, Park-Cottage Grove is in the shot put with a 36-02
Her HS teammate and North Tartan AAU player Jackie Voigt is also in the shot put with a 38-09

Colleen Raune, Benilde-St. Margaret's is in the 400 with a 59.41
Cassie Toepfer, Eagan is also in the 400 with a 58.29
Rena Kneeland, New Prague is in the 300 hurdles with a 46.39
Heather Brunn, Rogers is in the 800 with a 2:15.28, and the high jump at 5-2
Danielle Daniels, North St. Paul is in the high jump with a 5-4
Lauren Young, Edina has the top jump entering the tournament with a 5-6
Brynn Joki, Grand Rapids is in the long jump at 16-07 and triple jump with a 35-07
LaiShema Hampton, St. Louis Park is in the shot put with a 40-06.75 and the discus with a 127-03
Kristi Loobeek, Armstrong is in the discus with a 111-10
I had Katie Loberg of Princeton up yesterday.

On the A side Seventh grader Marissa Janning from Watertown-Mayer and the AAU Mpls Monarchs has qualified for this weeks State Track Meet by finishing 2nd in Section 5A in both the 1600 (5:14) and the 3200 (11:46).

Here are all the state qualifiers in all events for AA and for A.

COACHING NEWS
In case you missed my post yesterday afternoon, Eagan hired Chisago Lakes coach Liz Mundahl.

Nathan Stoa has been hired at Pine City.

Pierz assistant Dave Fischer has a feature in the Brainerd Dispatch.

SUMMER LEAGUES
Pine City will be holding a summer league on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 12.

Concordia St. Paul kicked off the summer league season last night. CSP Summer league rules include three 14 minute running time periods. No shooting on fouls, teams are awarded automatic points.
River Falls, WI won all 3 last night against Zumbrota-Mazeppa.

ATHLETE AWARD
Nikki Swenson, Dawson-Boyd won the Hengstler-Ranweiler Award sponsored by the West Central Tribune. She is the second DB player to win the award. The other was Carrie Tollefson in 1995.
