BENCHMARKS
Last night in the story I indicated that the the team with the higher bench point total lost in five games. There was once where the higher total won ---when it mattered and that was Maple Grove with 11 over Park Center's 4. MG won that game by 7. So the score should read Better Bench 1-5, not 0-5.

THORPE ON A SOAP BOX
Dave Thorpe, former Osseo, MN coach, will from time to time give his views on the game. Today's topic is the 113 scored by Eppihany Price from Murray Burgtraum.
"I'm 60 years old and I could score 113 points against five red cones. But there is a major difference between that and what happened last night: the cones have no emotions and no feelings.
"The coach must have an awful big ego. What deficiency in the coach's own self-esteem was he trying to fill by leaving in a star player on the court with a 100 point lead?
"I think decisions like that cheapen the sport and tarnish legitimate records."
