Speed kills, but quickness kills faster. St. Clair had quickness at all positions. That factor along with their fearlessness made them tough to take down. Both offenses were popping in this right from the start. Maple River led 17-12 early with four players contributing to the lead. St. Clair grabbed the lead when Casey Gudahl dropped a three from the left corner 21-19. That was the start of a 7/8 string of possessions and SC was on a 22-4 run. Gudahl had 9 during this streak. St. Clair was also more aggressive on the boards as they made six points during this run on second chance points. St. Clair led at half 37-27.

Maple River opened the second half with a 11-4 run with Jessica Bruanshausen with 7 points. The score now stood at 41-38. St. Clair put together a six string scoring possession and a 12-3 run during that period to put the game at 61-46. Jessica Pierson provided 7 points during the run. That took much of the energy away from MR and the game ended up 76-59
