TOURNAMENT RECAP

AAA
1: Lakeville South beat Faribault 68-41. This is Lakeville South's first year as a school and, as I stated in yesterday's Section preview, will be one that needs to be watched. They beat the #2 seed New Prague on D6 51-45. That was their only non AAAA opponent all year. Lakeville South is #8 in the 1AAA seedings.
AA
1: both #1 seeds Winona Cotter in the East and Kingsland in the West won yesterday. Cotter beat Chatfield 66-32. Jenny Gilbertson had 18 for Cotter. Kingsland beat Kasson-Mantorville 57-43, but led at half 27-24. Talea Ramaker scored the first 8 Kingsland points to start the second half.

1: Defending state champ and #1 in the east Elgin-Millville had no problems with Mabel-Canton 68-36. Megan Pick led EM with 22.
On the West side Faribault Bethlehem Academy hammered Randolph 79-45.
Next up: out & About--I wanted to be in Marshall for the 3A North semifinals, but my blood has been too high due to drive through meals. I will be attending a game closer to home, but I don't think it will be as dramatic.
