Out & About: SW MN Christian/Edgerton

#6 posting 2.26.2006

3A South Quarterfinals
#3 SW MN Christian 63, #6 Edgerton 53

This was the battle of Edgerton…a rivalry game. At times I thought the game was over, but Edgerton put up a spirited fight before SW pulled away at the end.

This game started off like the first game with SWC going up 16-4 early on. Jenna Snyder put up 10 of those points as she started off ready to play. Edgerton had a 0/6 string at this point. Amy Kallemeyn had 10 of Edgerton’s 12 points. Edgerton closed the gap to 16-12. SWC had their own 0/6 dry spell at this point. Late in the half SWC had a 7 possession string for a 13-5 run. Snyder provided six during this stretch with her defense on steals and transition. SWC led at half 32-22.

SWC pused the lead up to 44-30 with 12 minutes left. From that point Edgerton went on a 18-7 run to cut the lead to 51-48 with four minutes left. Leading the charge was Kallemeyn with 14 points. She was dropping shots from the right baseline and from the free throw elbow. SWC put the stop to that run and started their own with a 12-5 run. SWC will now take on Fulda.

Height Matters: SWC 5-8.6, Edgerton 5-8.4
Department of Defense: 2/3 for both to start.
