Streak busters--FT, and losing

Many streaks have come to an end lately. The free throw streak was a good streak, but three teams have snapped losing streaks.

Deb Remmerde, Northwestern IA (Rock Valley HS) set a new organized consecutive free throw record with 133 in a row before missing against Dakota Wesleyan on F8. The former record was 126 for a Daryl Moreau New Orleans DeLaSalle 1979. The NCAA record was 69 set by Jaime Visness, Concordia Moorhead (Kittson Central, MN) in 2003. The NBA record is 94 by Michael Williams in 1993.

GAMES OF NOTE---STREAK BUSTERS

Des Moines East picked up a win over Ankeny 40-35 of F7. It was the first in 21 years over Ankeny in the five player era going back to 1985.
Saydel assured themselves of a winning season with a 64-55 win over Grandview Park Baptist. It is the first winning season going back 32 years to 1974, and it is their first winning season in the five player era.

Hermantown beat Duluth East for the first time ever in a 81-68 win Thursday night.

MILESTONES

Jossy Bergan, Valley City reached the 1000 point mark against Fargo North J26. She is the first Valley City girl to reach the mark. She had 30 that night.
Jennifer Dishon, Trenton reached the 1000 point mark recently. She joins teammate Kim Oyloe who went over 1000 earlier in the year. She is the 6th player under coach Bob Turcotte to reach the mark. Turcotte has a career record of 174-44.
Brittany Perdue, Ray also has passed the 1000 point level.

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Gophers have "pulled back" their offer to Kelly Mullaney, Breck, and will be "re-evaluated" in the spring.
When I was at the game last Friday a Gopher assistant were in attendance.
