GAMES OF NOTE
MN
Woodbury beat Mpls North 55-54 in overtime. Remember you heard it first--North will return to State. They have worked out the kinks and are now challenging AAAA ranked teams. They may be seeded 4th/5th in their section so the first game would be St. Louis Park. Then they would take on #1 Benilde-St. Margaret's. BSM has not won a semifinal game in section play the last three years.
MILESTONES
MN
Kali Olstad, Elgin-Millville has set a new career 3 pt record with 340 3s in her career. She made 5 and had 17 points, but St. Charles won the game to spoil the celebration 67-46. Olstad broke the record of 335 held by Shannon Schonrock of Blue Earth and now of the 12th ranked Minnesota Gophers. Next up is the 349 boys record held by Ryan Giehler of Bigfork.
Krista Opheim, Eden Valley-Watkins had 13 assists in a 66-48 win over Pierz. Those assists added to a new career total of 887. That broke the 879 record held by Jaime Pudenz of Red Rock Central set in 1996.
Ashley Schleper, Zimmerman scored her 1000th point in a 63-38 win over St. John's Prep. She is the first Zimmerman player to cross that milestone. Schleper had 25 on the night.
Katie Jamnick, Tower-Soudan grabbed 21 rebounds and passed the 1000 rebound mark in a 52-27 win over Ely. She is the first from Tower-Soudan to pass the 1000 rebound mark.
STREAK BUSTERS
