Out & About: Fulda/Hills-Beaver Creek

#5 posting 2.26.2006

3A South Quarterfinals
#2 Fulda 66, #10 Hills-Beaver Creek 57

This was a three fest with 18 threes made in the game. HBC won the 3 fest with 10 to Fulda’s 8. Two players proved to be superior target shooters with six 3s—Karri Fransman, of HBC and Sarah Raddle of Fulda.

The game opened with a 3 by Chelsi Fink of HBC. They pushed the lead up to 5-0 before Fulda went on a four possession string and 8-0 run to go up 8-5. During this phase HBC was on an 0/6 run. The game was tied at 10, and 12. Fulda pushed the lead out to 20-14 as HBC was on another drought of 0/7. They snapped out of it with two 3s and the game was tied again at 20. Sam Raddle popped a 3 for Fulda to regain that lead. HBC went on another dry run of 0/8. So the string if combined was 0/21. The half ended on a three by HBC’s Fransman for a 28-25 lead for Fulda.

Fulda grabbed a 38-32 lead early. HBC put together a 7-2 run to cut the lead to 40-39 Fulda. Again Fulda pulled away for a 44-39 lead. Karri Fransman put in two more 3s for an HBC lead for the first time of the night 45-44. HBC’s biggest lead came at 47-44, a 3 by Sarah Raddle tied it at 47. She wasn’t done as she drained another 3 to put Fulda back in the lead for good at 50. HBC’s last gasp was provided by Chelsi Fink’s 3 to tie it at 50 with six minutes to go. Sarah Raddle answered with a regular old two pointer, but Fulda held the lead the rest of the night as they closed with a 12-6 run. From the 47 tie Sarah Raddle knocked down 17 points for Fulda.

Height Matters: Fulda 5-9.8, HBC 5-5.6
Department of defense: HBC 2/3, Fulda 2/3; man pressure full court

Again most everyone needs to get stronger so I’m not going to be tedious on that.
