This game took place on Saturday, June 2
Minnesota AAU State Tournament
Cooper HS
16u Quarterfinals
MN STARS HESTED 99, TOTAL PACKAGE 58

In the final game of the night it was #3 MN Stars Hested just missing the century mark in a 99-58 win over #6 Total Package. TP had three more players for the evening game: Kiara Strickland, AunDreah Aune, and Tyisha Smith. The additional legs didn't make a difference. Five MSH players hit double figures, no one did for TP.

At the start it didn't seem that MSH would get to the century mark. They did have a 6-0 lead and led from start to finish, but there were no big runs or consecutive scoring sequences early. For TP Lyndsey Westgaard scored the first six points. The closest TP came after the opening tip was 8-6. Droughts did hit TP. They had dry spells of five three times. MSH biggest offensive sequence was only four. Their trick was few missed sequences. There were 51 possessions in the first half which made it almost a 100 pp100 half for MSH.

It was more of the same in the second half. One key difference was MSH did put together a run of six. The only drama was whether there would be triple digits on the scoreboard. The last MSH points came on a put back by Alex Montgomery. Montgomery had one more crack on the last possession, but it didn't fall.
