MINNESOTA STATE AAU TOURNAMENT
Tonight the first round of the state tournament opened at Cooper. Parking was at a premium with the Section 5AA Track meet. There were a few upsets in the opening rounds, there was a forfeit, and there was a South Dakota Team moving forward in the Minnesota State Tournament.

You might say the theme tonight was Southern Minne Magic. I saw the SMM Black beat the MN Breeze 52-35 in the 16u. I had not seen either team until tonight.

I was going to see SMM 15u but they forfeited against 43 Hoops. 43 Hoops did scrimmage against each other.

The final game provided an upset. A South Dakota team, and basically a school team at that, the 'Stangs, beat Southern Minne Magic White 66-49. As a reward they now face North Tartan-Larson the #1 seed in the 16s.

I will be reporting on these games in greater depth next week.

The other 16 games tonight
MN Swish 73, 43 Hoops 62
North Tartan-Crosby 68, MN Northern Lynx 24
MN Summit Blue 76, Southern Minny Elite 54

The 15s:
MN School of Basketball Elite beat MN Comets
and in an upset #11 PRIDE Youth defeated #6 Fury 53-42

Only one game at the 14s:
MN Stars Blue 61, Gym Rats 37

Next up: tomorrow morning followed by many reports from the tournament. Action kicks off at 9 am.
