COACHING NEWS
Lynn Dalhed is the new Lakeville South girls basketball head coach according to sources. She was the coach the last two years at Apple Valley.

WEEKEND RECAPS
FURY SUMMER JAM 15 CHAMPS
The Minnesota Fury 15U team put together their best weekend of basketball this season with an impressive 4-0 record winning the Minnesota Summer Jam. They defeated Southern Minne Magic, Prime time Players, Minnesota Stars-Carlisle, and All-Iowa Attack to win the tournament.

In the opening round they defeated the Southern Minne Magic 51-18. Lisa Loeffler (North St. Paul) led the way with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Shannon O'Toole (Wayzata) also added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the win.

In the second round the Fury defeated PT Players 64-36. Morgan Zabel(Northfield) led the way with 14 points, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds. Meanwhile, Carly Chell (Apple Valley) chipped in with 8 points and 8 rebounds.

The Fury met Minnesota Stars Carlisle in the semifinals on Sunday morning and again played well. Darcey Rice (Eastview) stepped up with 11 points including three 3-point shots. The balanced attack also included 11 points and 6rebounds from Zabel.

The championship was played with great intensity and the Fury and All Iowa Attack battled from beginning to end. (AIA beat the Fury 44-41 at Battle on the Hardwood in an intense match-up last meeting.) Zabel put up 13 points and 10 rebounds while dishing out 5 assists. She helped spearhead the Fury comeback when she scored 10 unanswered points to tie the game. Meanwhile, Tessa Cichy (Hill-Murray) played another fabulous game (despite playing with a broken toe and bad ankle). She dropped in 10 points and 10 rebounds. Darcey Rice broke a 46-46 tie with 1:48 to go when she hit a 15-foot jump shot to give the Fury the lead and eventual win.

INNER CITY ALL STAR GAME
The final score was 56-48 Team Faith over Team Unity. Alex Moore from Johnson was the MVP and Brittnye McSparron was the 3 point Champion. Team Faith was coached by Angel Robinson and her father John, and Team Unity was Coached by Charlita Williamson from Edison and Jimmy Rogers, South Assistant.

DULUTH EAST WINS BARNUM TOURNAMENT
Duluth East won the Barnum tournament this weekend. Bigfork finished second. They beat the hosts 44-43 in the first round and Nashwauk-Keewatin in the semis before facing DE in the finals. Here is Basketball in Bigfork with a recap of the event.
