Roysland Assists, Langen Goes Pro

COACHING NEWS
The Fargo Forum has more on the Kelly Roysland assistant hire at North Dakota State. Roysland grew up in a coaching environment with her mother the coach of Fosston volleyball and her father was a coach at Win-E-Mac and is now the women's basketball coach at UM Crookston.

Shawn Stimmel has resigned his women's basketball position at Mount Mercy. Stimmel was the head coach at St. Mary's in Winona prior to that.

Del Bicknese has been hired at Kingsland. Bicknese will be the third Kingsland coach in three years. From the Spring Valley Tribune.

With Mark Arzdorf resigning at Osseo that makes six coaching changes in schools that made the state tournament last year: Chaska, Osseo, St. Francis in AAAA; Fergus Falls, Rogers in AAA; New Life in A. That is 18.8% turnover. And that is in programs that were successful.

GOING PRO
Ashley Langen has signed a pro contract with the Perik Jumpers of the Dutch Eredivisie league in the Netherlands. Langen played her high school basketball at Kittson Central and was an All American at North Dakota in college.

EVEN MORE BASKETBALL ON TRACK
Leah Dietel of Jordan finished in 2nd place at the state track meet in the shot put. She threw 40 feet 5 1/2 inches.

Ohio women's basketball coach Semeka Randall writes her final blog entry on her trip to Afghanistan.
