this game took place on Saturday, June 7, 2008
Delano MYAS 17 I tournament
TRIPLE THREAT 16s 70, ARMSTRONG falcons 43

This was a pool play game with both teams playing up. Triple Threat is mainly made up of sophomores (2010s) some of which were varsity players. Armstrong is almost exclusively made up of freshman (2011s). Again I arrived prior to the start of the game (at least on the schedule). By the time I got to charting it was already 15-5. MYAS is eager to get the games rolling apparently.

In the last portion of the first half Armstrong did close to 25-20 with a 15-10 run. That was as close as it was going to be for the rest of the game. TT had scoring runs in the first half of four and 4/5, while suffering through minor four possession droughts. Taylor Bare had 7 points (that I charted) at half as TT led 35-25. Bare was responsible for 7 more points with assists in the first half.

TT stretched their lead in the second half thanks to a dominating presence on the offensive glass. They had 15 points on second chancers in the half and kept pushing the margin higher. Armstrong had scoring gaps of five and six. TT had 8 unanswered points at one stretch. Emily Clark scored 8 straight points for TT. TT's biggest lead came at 68-38.
Later that night TT lost to the Comets 39-36.

, Jordan 13, 12, 108.3, .500 forward. most shots from behind the arc. scored two 3s, went to the line three times. crashed the offensive boards for four points. needs to convert at the free throw line. needs to work on stops or body control--picked up a charging foul.
Ashley Hartman, Jordan 4, 6, 66.7, .333 did a strong job on the defensive boards in the second half.
Taylor Bare, Anoka 11, 10, 110.0, .500 point guard. Probably had a triple double, but I wasn't there at the start. boards well, sees the floor. aggressive and a leader. nice pull up jumper. hit a three at the top of the key
Danielle Davenport, Champlin Park 2, 3, 66.7, .333 scored in transition
Amy Waterman, Anoka 12, 8, 150.0, .750 post player. all her charted points came in the second half inside.

TRENCH PLAYER
Taylor Bare, one away from a triple double. Probably had it too, but MYAS started the game early and I didn't chart the first 15 points for TT.

BY THE NUMBERS
Triple Threat 16: 56, 50, 112.0, .540
Armstrong 36, 52, 69.2, .308
made 3s/&1s: TT 3/0; Armstrong 2/1
ftm/fta-ft%: Armstrong 10/18-.556; TT 2/9-.222

A big factor in TT's win was second chance points. They dominated that category 19-4. TT had 15 second chance points alone in the second half.
Neither team lit it up at the line with TT shooting below freezing (22%). In fact Armstrong was more aggressive to the basket doubling the TT attempts.
Armstrong had 12 turnovers, TT 6. Most possessions ended in missed shots for TT.
