COACHING NEWS
Dick Swanson has retired as girls basketball coach at Duluth Denfeld. He coached for 22 years at the school with 301 career wins. Assistant James Jubenville will be the new coach. From the Duluth News Tribune.

ALL STAR GAMES
The 26th annual Columbus Telegram/Central Community College girls basketball All Star game takes place Friday at 6 pm in Columbus, Nebraska. From the Columbus Telegram.

The Michigan All Star game will take place on August 2 in Brighton with four Upper Peninsula All Stars. From the Escanaba Daily Press.

BASKETBALL ON THE DIAMOND
Sam Hildebrandt of Park-Cottage Grove was named the StarTribune's player of the year. Hildebrandt was a starting guard on the Wolfpack's girls basketball team this year.
Other basketball players on the StarTribune first team include Chelsea Durland of Orono; and Samantha McGee of Bloomington Jefferson.
Other basketball players on the StarTribune second team include Chelsea Erickson of Big Lake; Micaela Goris of Lakeville North; and Jenny Ramey of New Life.
