DAKOTA SHOWCASE FINAL FOUR SET
The quarterfinals are over at the Dakota Showcase. There were a couple more massacres and two games with some competitive value.
In the first game I charted it was CSS Bison out of Nebraska beating another Nebraska team Alegent Crusaders 67-42. At one point the spread was 31 early in the second half. At the same time this game was going on Metro Stars Black advanced with a shut down defensive effort against Team Runza, another Nebraska entry 54-24.
In the next round I charted Pinnacle Bank Nebraska over the Kansas City Hustle 62-51. PBN got off to an early 8-2 lead and watched as KCH crept closer down to a two point advantage once in the first half and three times in the second. The last narrow margin came at 45-43. After that PBN scored on all nine of their last possessions, including the last seven possessions at the line. PBN was 13/14 at the line during this stretch as the KCH tactic of fouling to get the ball back proved futile.
At the same time as this game was being played, IBCA Select Red survived Metro Stars White. Late in the game MSW narrowed the margin to 42-41. IBCA finished up with free throws for the final margin.

The semifinals will be at 6:20 with Metro Stars Black taking on the CSS Bison, and in the other semi IBCA Select faces Pinnacle Bank Nebraska.
