RECRUITING
Sam Webb of the Detroit News writes about a sophomore boy, Brandan Kearney and his recruiting process. Even though this article deals with a male youngster in Detroit, the lessons can apply very easily to females. The points that need to be emphasized -
1. The premature sense of arrival. Players still need to sharpen and develop their skills. They can't be satisfied where they are. Potential is just that.
2. get that killer instinct. Players may have the skill yet don't get the job done. Being aggressive is skill that gets overlooked. Seize the day.
3. Basketball IQ. Knowing what to do and when to do it.
