ROGERS BREAKDOWN TOURNAMENT
Gold Division Championship
CENTENNIAL cougars 78, PRINCETON tigers 26

Centennial showed that they are still a power to be reckoned with in a convincing 78-26 win over Princeton in the gold championship. Centennial bolted out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back. By half time it was 44-12. Six Centennial players hit double figures led by Megan Nipe's 19.

Centennial used their pressure defense to build their quick lead. Centennial forced 17 turnovers in the first half including the first six Princeton possessions. Holly Hoffland had the hot hand with six of the first 8 Centennial points. Later Megan Nipe took on that roll with six straight points. Meanwhile Princeton was struggling to find the basket with a 14 possession drought. The Cougars pulled away 32-4. Centennial was firing on all cylinders in the first half with a pp100 of 146.7. That contrasts with Princeton's 40.0.

The trajectory of the game didn't change in the second half. Centennial kept on with their scoring, although at not as torrid a pace. Princeton was able to connect a few more times, but the hole was much too deep to make an impact. The Tigers did have one 11 possession drought that didn't help their cause. Centennial led 65-16 when the Tigers roared again. The rest of the game Centennial outscored Princeton 13-11.
