Hopkins Wins Team Camp,

HIGH SCHOOL ACTION
GOPHER TEAM CAMP
Hopkins won the AB title at the Minnesota Gopher team camp.
Hopkins beat Jordan in the semifinals 41-13. In the other semifinal Eden Prairie beat White Bear Lake 43-33. The Royals topped EP 28-17 in the championship.
In the CD division it was Eden Prairie's JV taking the title over Buffalo.

LYNX PRE GAME
The Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears and Win-E-Mac Patriots will play before the Lynx game today.

Here are the Summer Challenge results from the CSS teams.
Full Package Lady Lightning (IL) 63. NE Bison CSS 59
Marissa Kastanek scored 24 points to lead the Bison in a narrow loss.
NE Bison CSS 79, Illinois Basketball Academy Select(Naperville) 53
Brooke Wehle (Dennison, IA) 14 Kelsie Lliteras had 12 to lead the Bison.

Illinois Wolverines Elite 17's 56, NE Judds CSS 46
Kyley Simmons (Council Bluffs Lewis Central) had 12, and Alex Grant (Lincoln Pius X) had 10
NE Judds CSS 85 MO Rockets 51
Carly Grenfell (York) had 18, and Rachel Thrash (Omaha Marian) had 16 for the Judds.

NORTH TARTAN 15S
Here is a photo of the North Tartan 15s at Disney World after they finished second in the Super Soph tournament. In the tournament semifinal Rachel Banham suffered an achilles injury.

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED ATHLETES
Denise Long has been chosen as Iowa's All Time Female Athlete by Sports Illustrated. Long played with Union-Whitten High School from 1965-69 in the six-on-six format. She was the first woman to become an NBA draft selection. From the Des Moines Register.

ILLNESS
Junior Kelcie Wilson of Jackson Lumen Christi is in critical condition after contracting meningitis. She became ill at a basketball tournament in Fort Wayne, Indiana. From the Jackson Citizen Patriot.
