CHICAGO SUMMER SHOWCASE HOOPGURLZ REVIEW

COACHING NEWS
Derek Ouren has been hired as the new girls basketball coach at Fargo North. He was the boys assistant at North for four years. From the Fargo Forum.

Krista Van Hauen has been hired as an assistant coach at Northern Colorado. Van Hauen has been an assistant at Cornell College and Waldorf College in Iowa.

TOURNAMENTS
The Wisconsin Swing is hosting the Jimmy V Classic Tournament this weekend in Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells.

UPTOWN (or midtown) SUMMER LEAGUE
Because of the renovations currently being done over at the Uptown facility they've moved the league over to the Midtown facility (Lake St. and Hiawatha Ave.).

STRENGTH TRANING
Patosha Jeffery has a series of girls basketball strength and skill training videos on YouTube. In this video the Dip is demonstrated. Jeffery also has skill demonstrations like ball handling and agility drills. There are 25 in all.

OUTDOOR BALL
The New York Liberty have announced a free fan festival on the day of the Outdoor Classic game on Saturday, July 19th for all ticket holders by Epic Record's hot group, MENUDO! Learn more about the free concert.
