ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Jennifer Jorgenson of Southeast Webster Grand has been named the Des Moines Register's athlete of the year. Jorgenson averaged 30.4 ppg her senior season and is headed to Pacific on a basketball scholarship.

ALL STAR GAME
The Blues beat the Reds 91-61 in the Nebraska All Star Game yesterday. Alicia Statler of Grand Island Central Catholic had 12 rebounds, one short of the record in the contest. From the Lincoln Journal Star and Grand Island Independent.
