VERBAL
Sarah Eichler of Grafton, Wisconsin has verballed UW Green Bay. The 5-11 guard averaged 13.2 points per game for the 24-1 Blackhawks last year. From the Green Bay Press & Gazette.
Eichler is the 8th overall player from the Wisconsin 2009 class to verbal, and the 6th headed to a D1 school.
UWGB also has 2009 verbals from Adrian Ritchie of DePere and Sam Zastrow of Algoma.
COACHING NEWS
Tom Schlimgen has been hired as the new women's basketball coach at Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD. Schlimgen was the boys coach at Scotland, SD. Schlimgen was the girls coach when that sport was in the fall season. From the Yankton Press & Dakotan.
ALL STAR GAME
The Nebraska girls Basketball All Star game will take place next Monday at 6 pm at Lincoln North Star High School. It will be webcast on netNebraska.org. From the Washington County Pilot-Tribune & Enterprise.
TEAM CAMP
Blaine won the Gold Division of the team camp at St. Cloud last weekend.
20U EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The U20 European Championship came to an end with Russia winning the Championship title by beating France 67-58. The German team secured their DIV A status by winning all three games in the classification round and finishing the tournament 3-3.
Hanna Muegge (Hopkins 2008) averaged 5.0 ppg, led her team in free throw (88.9%) and 2pt field goal percentage (42.1%) and finished second in blocked shots.
