COACHING HIRES
St. Francis has hired Jen Close as their new girls basketball coach. She was an assistant at St. Francis.

Esko has hired Jeff Antonuli (this could be misspelled) as their new girls basketball coach.

SPORTS FESTIVAL
Kanisha Rooks is headed to the USA Junior Nationals International Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio from July 21-27. From the Rapid City Journal.

SUMMER WORK
The Oshkosh Northwestern looks at the Fox Valley Hustle and Megan Wenig and their summer.

The Eau Claire Leader Telegram looks at the summer contact period for high school coaches. In Wisconsin the limit is five days.

AAU NATIONALS
Michigan Fastbreak finished 9th in the 15u Division. From the Midland Daily News.

OUTDOOR BALL
Indiana beat the New York Liberty in the first professional outdoor basketball game. It was not an artistic success. However the atmosphere was positive. From the New York Times and Rethinking Basketball.
Now the question will be when will other teams go outside and play. I always hear about how short summer is and how fans don't want to be inside when it is so nice. Where would the Lynx set up court?
