TOURNAMENT RESULTS
TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS--ATLANTA
It was a much tougher day as it took sudden death OT to make it to the Final. Tuesday morning NC Heat ran into a gritty Peach State Elite club that jumped out to an 8-2 lead and held it to 17-9. The Heat then went on a 15-0 run to close the half at 24-17. With jumpers not falling, the Heat took it to the basket and cashed in at the line. Free throws late made this appear much more lopsided than it really was with a final of 55-40. Totals 9/23 2 pt FGs, 4/13 3 pt FGs, and 25/30 FTs.

The semi-final game vs EBO Elite Black (California) was close the entire game. The largest lead for either team was 6 pts. EBO led 27-24 at the half. There was some controversy in this one when the Heat led 41-38, EBO made a 3 and the score went to 42-41 EBO. NC Heat spent a timeout but the scorers table had a an extra free throw so the 42 points stood. The score was tied at 50 with 2 minutes left as the Heat ran down the clock for the final shot. The Heat couldn't convert and left 7.8 seconds on the clock. NC Heat had 2 fouls to give and did so leaving 4 seconds left and EBO with the ball under their basket. A 3 attempt from the corner was off the mark and it went into OT. OT is sudden death. NC Heat won the tip and Tempestt Wilson was fouled on a drive. She made 1 free throw and the EBO coach got a technical. The Heat were then told they needed to win by 2, so Wilson sank her 2nd free throw for the final margin, 52-50. NC Heat shot 11/25 from 2 pt FG, 3/7 behind the arc, and 21/24 from the line.
