COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Saturday Iowa Central traveled to Minneapolis. The game was close throughout the first half. MCTC's aggressive and quick defense limited the Tritons chances of scoring in the first half. Even though MCTC was undersized and out manned in the paint, they only trailed by 3 at the half 29-26.
The second half was a different story. Iowa Central established themselves in the paint. They repeatedly got the ball down low and scored often. MCTC had no answer for their inside domination. MCTC had a long scoring drought to open up the second half and couldn't recover. Iowa began to use their depth to wear down MCTC's 9 players as some got into foul trouble. The final score was 73-39. This was MCTC first game of the season and will prove to be a great learning experience for the first year players that will make major contributions as the season continues. Leading scorers were MCTC Brittany Johnson (Mpls North) with 14 and Iowa Central Jessica Hunecke 18.

MN West won in overtime on Saturday with a 86-85 thriller with Sioux Falls JV. Ashley Kirk (Tracy-Milroy-Balaton) had 25 to lead MN West. From the Worthington Daily Globe.

Sandburg topped Southeastern CC 62-41. From the Burlington Hawk Eye.
