Badgers Look for Revenge; Miller Player of the Week

GAMES TODAY
Minnesota hosts North Dakota State at Williams Arena. The Gophers were beat by NDSU in Fargo last year. Here is the six page game note press release on tonight's contest.

Wisconsin is looking for revenge against Wyoming. Wyoming beat the Badgers in the WNIT final last March. Wisconsin's Rae Lin D'Alie broke her hand in that game and is eager to play. From the Badger Herald and Capital Times.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Heather Ezell of Iowa State was named player of the week in the Big 12.

Jessie Miller of Illinois Chicago (Holy Angels) was named player of the week in the Horizon.

Whitney Hofer of Augustana (West Central, SD) was named player of the week in the North Central.

Noelle Hall of Northern State (Lewiston-Altura) was named player of the week in the Northern Sun.

Megan Hoblet of Alma was named player of the week in the MIAA.

D2 ACTION LAST NIGHT
Nebraska Kearney beat Wayne State 68-48. Mara Hjelle (Mahtomedi) had 4 points for Wayne State.

SW MN State edged Black Hills State 61-58. From the Rapid City Journal. Liz Grider (Chaska) had 18 to lead SW MN State.

South Dakota powered past Colorado Christian 91-64. The Student newspaper the Volante also has more on the USD win. Jeana Hoffman (Mitchell) had 18 points for USD. Jodie Krall (Solon, IA) had 7 for Colorado Christian.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Marshalltown CC hit for 9 3s in the first half to route William Penn's JV 78-48. Catalina de la Quintana had 25 for MCC. From the Marshalltown Times-Republican.

MORE SIGNINGS
MSU Mankato added another player to their incoming 08-09 class with Lauren Barber of Owatonna. the 5-8 guard averaged 14.5 ppg for the Huskies last year. Barber played with Total Package this summer.
That makes six players that have signed with MSU Mankato.
Barber is the 52 player overall in the 2008 Minnesota class to sign/verbal and the 29th to head to a D2 school.
