Smith Big 10 Player of the Week, Myhre Signs

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Illinois' Jenna Smith (Bloomington Kennedy) picked up her second player of the week honor from the Big 10. She was also named MVP of the FIU tournament over the weekend.

Drake's Jill Martin (Norwalk, IA) was named player of the week in the Missouri Valley.

LAST NIGHT
Michigan State beat Delaware State 65-62. Alyssa DeHaan (Grandville, MI) had 15 for Michigan State.

Ohio beat Cleveland State 70-59. Lauren Kohn (Adrian, MI) had 27 for Ohio. Jackie Hiebert (Hopkins) started for Ohio, but did not score. Dominique Butler (Milw Madison) had 6 for Cleveland State.

Marquette beat William & Mary 79-61. The Eagles snapped a two game losing streak. Marissa Thrower (Detroit Renaissance) had a career high 19 for Marquette. Angel Robinson (St. Paul Central) had 10 points and 8 assists for Marquette. From the Marquette Tribune.

MEDIA QUESTIONS
Wisconsin's coach Stone answered some questions from the media on Monday. Questions #1 and #4 are of interest to Alyssa Karel fans.

SIGNINGS
The Marquette signing class of 2008 is featured on their website. Included in the foursome is Georgie Jones of St. Paul Central.

Indiana went south to Florida to find two of their three recruits for 2008-09.

D2 SIGNING
Megan Myhre, Barnum, is headed to Concordia St. Paul. The 6-1 post averaged 11.3 last year on the perimeter for Barnum.
Myhre is the 53rd player overall in the 2008 Minnesota class and the 30th to head to a D2 school.

D2 ACTION
Upper Iowa beat Waldorf 66-47. Chelsea Peterson (Midland, IA) had 12 for Upper Iowa. Paige Devine (St. Charles) added 11. Waldorf was led by Megan Foster (Fairmont) with 15.

LAST WEEKEND
UM Crookston split their tournament games at Dickinson State last weekend.

D3 ACTION
St. Olaf beat Martin Luther 57-35. It was Dave Stromme's first win at the helm at St. Olaf. Elyse Erickson (Orono) had 19 for St. O. Katherine Kogler had 10 for Martin Luther.

NAIA ACTION
Morningside rolled Mount Mercy 87-48. From the Sioux City Journal.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Western WI Tech snapped Riverland's 6 game winning streak with a 72-60 win. From the Rochester Post Bulletin. Becky Sobota had 28 for WWTC. Anna Hebrink (Austin) had 18 for Riverland.

Anoka-Ramsey beat Central Lakes 79-41 over the weekend. Kate Bement (Princeton) had 15 for AR. Jayme Reed (Browerville) had 9 to lead Central Lakes.
