Northern State University opens its regular season tonight at the Wayne State Invite in Wayne, Nebraska. Four teams are participating at the competition including Northern State, Wayne State, Colorado School of Mines and Colorado Christian. Northern State plays Colorado School of Mines tonight and Colorado Christian tomorrow.
Wayne State has Mara Hjelle (Mahtomedi) on the roster while Northern State has ten players on the roster from Minnesota including local metro players Ashley Genske (Mayer Lutheran), Ryanne Brockhaus (Prior Lake), Jessica Peterson (Chisago Lakes), Jaclyn Arns (St. Michael-Albertville), and Krissy O'Toole (Wayzata). Northern State plays the University of North Dakota, who is ranked #1 in DII in the country in the USA Today/ESPN 2007-8 preseason poll, on Tuesday evening in Aberdeen.

Madison Area handed Central Lakes their second straight loss 74-58. Stacy Butler (Brainerd) led CL with 14.
Here is the reports from the game I saw Wednesday night in Brainerd when NDSCS beat the Central Lakes Raiders 77-35. From the Wahpeton Daily News and Brainerd Dispatch.
On Thursday, Northwestern IA JV edged MN West 85-81. Ashlee Domine (Tracy-Milroy-Balaton) had 23 for MN West.
On Wednesday, Iowa Lakes topped MN West 77-67. Ashlee Domine had 28 that contest.
