South Dakota State went two overtimes with UC Riverside before pulling off the 93-90 win. Stacie Oistad (Sartell) had 22 and Maria Boever (Worthington) 19 for SDSU. The Sioux Falls Argus Leader looks at the unlikely heroes of the game.

Northern Arizona topped North Dakota State 75-68. Lisa Bue (Austin) led NDSU with 16.

Michigan State beat Evansville 73-53 in the second round of the preseason WNIT. Allyssa DeHaan had 16 for MSU.

New Mexico put the clamps on Northwestern 67-38. Jessica Kielpinski (Mandan, ND) had 8 and Amy Beggin (Roseville) had 6 for New Mexico. Melissa Miller (Breck) did not score for Northwestern.

Illinois beat UW Milwaukee 63-43. Jenna Smith (Bloomington Kennedy) had 22 points for Illinois. Traci Edwards (Menasha, WI) led UWM with 11.

#16 Ohio State beat Marist 63-57.

Penn State edged #20 Pitt 80-74 to win the WBCA Classic. Janessa Wolff (Park Rapids) had 14 points for Penn State.

Iowa beat Dartmouth 61-43. Wendy Ausdemore (TriCenter, IA) had 12 and Krista VandeVenter (Osseo) 11 for the Hawkeyes. Kristen Craft (Marshalltown, IA) had 4 for Dartmouth. The Des Moines Register looks at the strong Hawkeye defense. The Daily Iowan, the campus paper, also looks at the opening game.

Iowa State beat Pepperdine 70-59. Nicky Wieben (Ankeny) had a career high 24 for ISU. Amanda Nisleit (Woodbury) added 4. The Cyclone starters had to return to the court to lock up the win. From the Des Moines Register.

Nebraska beat Mississippi 80-59. Cory Montgomery (Cannon Falls) had 10 for Nebraska.

Eastern Michigan did a tap dance on Temple Baptist 108-22. Shana McKinney (Detroit Osborn) had 13 and Amber Land (Kulm, ND) had 8 for EMU.

Dayton beat Western Michigan 88-63. Brittany Holterman (Racine Prairie) scored 14 for Dayton. Sarah Dreher (Niles, MI) had 14 for WMU. The Kalamazoo Gazette writes about the experience in Albuquerque.

Kansas beat Hartford 76-72. Kelly Kohn (Adrian, MI) had 9 for Kansas.

Auburn pounded Detroit 91-47. Heather Hatter (Howell, MI) had 10 and Chanica Hall (Benilde-St. Margaret's) had 8 for Detroit.

Baylor beat Prairie View A&M 89-61. Kandis Brown (Lakeville) had 6 points for PVA&M.

Duke dropped Denver 57-37. Ashly Robinson (Bloomington Kennedy) did not score for Denver.

UMKC edged Air Force 65-59. Alyssa Klein (Okoboji, IA) scored 15 and Marta Waalen (St. Paul Central) 4 for UMKC.

Boise State beat Montana 70-64. Sierra Moeller (Pierre, SD) had 2 for Boise State.
