your daily dose of girls basketball news & information

Today will be a busy day with the opening of the basketball season in Minnesota. We will have special blogs during the day. First off we have some general news and information. We will then move into the college reports & high fives.

OPENING GREETING
Metro Stars program director Andy Meinhardt would like to wish everyone a great high school basketball season!

Parents parent, coaches coach, players play, and bloggers blog! If everyone understands their role we should all have a great 4 months!

For more information about the Metro Stars and how to join the Girls Basketball Recruit 2007 Program of the Year visit our website at www.mnmetrostars.com

INTERNET VIEWING
www.ifan.tv webcasts numerous sports in video and audio. They mostly cover UW-Superior, St. Scholastica, Northwestern HS (Maple, WI), Superior HS, and some schools around the Eau Claire area. They do over 450 events a year and have done basketball, hockey, football, baseball, in line hockey, wrestling, motocross, golf, volleyball, softball, track, etc. They even did a spelling bee but have not done ice fishing.....(Yet). www.ifan.tv is free to view and they archive some events.

SCORING, SCOUTING, & STARING
There is a blog on the Wages of Wins site that looks at the Federal Reserve and the way they make economic decisions. What does this have to do with basketball??? It is all tied together in the article. There are great links about NBA research, Models of Player performance, Wins produced and Wins scored. and box score stats. You don't necessarily need a doctorate in economics to read it.
