FALL LEAGUE SUNDAY
Today it was back to Lakeville South for action in the Breakdown Fall League South division. The last two weekends have provided great story finishes with last second shots, dramatic comebacks, and sharp shooting. Today my "gamedar" only had one tight game.

Today the theme that I noticed was the increased pressure and tempo. There were more possessions on average than in the other games I have seen the other weeks. For example two weeks ago at LS the average possessions came to 44.2 per team. Today it was 48.3. The full court press and double teams were a standard for all teams.

I made sure I picked teams I had not seen yet and so here are the games:
#1 Prior Lake beat Rochester Century 40-30. PL led at half time 18-17 and took control on an 8-0 run to start the second half.
#2 In a battle between Catholic schools, Rochester Lourdes pressured and harassed Holy Family to a similar score 41-30. Lourdes led at half 26-14 on the strength of a 13-0 run in the first half.
#3 In a Lake Conference showdown it was Eastview edging Eden Prairie 31-28. EP was not a full strength with Laura Weber and Carly Rothfusz out. This was the game that had the drama today. EP led at half time 18-13. Eastview tied it at 21 with 10 minutes left. It was tight the rest of the way. Brittany Rud scored the to ahead basket and what proved to be the game winner for Eastview.

The reports on these games will be Monday for the Prior Lake game; Tuesday for the Lourdes game; and Wednesday for the Eastview game.

I have retrofitted some of the D1 scoring since I didn't have the Marquette/Concordia St. Paul results up.
