HS TOURNAMENTS
MN
The Pacesetter sweet 16 tournament will be held at St. Benedict's in St. Joseph, MN August 5th and 6th. The format is to take four teams from each class and play down to one winner. Here are the invitees for the August HS event
AAAA
Hopkins*; St. Paul Central* ; Minneapolis South; Champlin Park
AAA
DeLaSalle*; Rogers* ; Becker; Minneapolis Roosevelt
AA
Barnesville; Crookston*; Winona Cotter*; Kingsland
A
Fulda*; Ada-Borup*; Cedar Mountain-Comfrey; Nicollet
The * is not about Barry Bonds, but about being in the State tournament last season.

Fulda and Hopkins won their classes in 2006.
In AAA DeLaSalle and Roosevelt are in the same class. Rogers and Becker in the same conference.
In AA Barnesville and Crookston are both in 8AA; Winona Cotter and Kingsland in 1AA.
Cedar Mountain will be adding Comfrey to their team this season and Nicollet is in the same section--2A.
Preseason #1s include St. Paul Central, Becker, Fulda. One of the four in AA should be a #1 team. I will have to check the records.
This is the first time in many years Rochester Lourdes or New London-Spicer have not been involved in this event.

The team that wins the tournament the last is usually in the finals in their class the next winter season. For example 2005 winner Kennedy in the finals of AAAA (lost to Hopkins). 2004 Rochester Lourdes; 2003 Hopkins; 2002 Woodbury.

HS LEAGUE PLAY
Concordia-St. Paul
St. Paul Central beat Elk River last night and picked up 5 points. A team gets two points for a win in the quarter, one for a tie. It was 21 all after one quarter. Central won the second period 23-18 and third period 24-20.
Concordia's league is on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 pm to the last scheduled game at 9 pm.
If you have summer league action---get it to me and I will get it up. Go to my profile and email me.

BOOK PROGRESS
Last week I had the Geek Squad come over to network the system. It is up and running. Now tonight will be the first night my part timer (Kelly Johnson, a setter on the state tournament volleyball team I coached from Osseo 2001), will test drive the new computer.
I am missing this information from MN
All Conference from these conferences--if you know it, please send it to me. Go to my profile and email me these missing conferences
Great River
Mid State
MCAA
Northern Lakes
Northwest Suburban
Prairie
Rum River
St. Louis County
Valley
Wright County
I don't understand why I am missing MCAA or the NW Suburban, but I have checked my records and they are not there. Please, if you have these send them to me.
Right now I am finishing up data entry in ND. I am about to wrap up the Bismarck Tribune papers that I have saved from the winter.
Kelly will be working on setting up the databases for the college levels.
The books will be ready to go in late September. The books will rate players from Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. I rate players from Michigan as well, but it is not state wide yet, but I am adding each year. This year the Lansing area, plus Detroit will be covered. There are three books in the package 1. Minnesota with player and team ratings, each school has a list of players, it is about 100 pages. 2. the other featured states (IA, MI, ND, SD, WI) with player ratings and school by school contact information. This is about 150 pages. 3. The college data book with a break down of players from all over the world. This is about 50 pages. Look for more information in August and September on ordering.
Another update next week.

MENOMONIE PHOTOS.
A reliable source has taped these games, and then digitized them. I now have the ability to pull the digitized images thanks to the fine work of the double agent from the Geek Squad.

On the left is Gabby Hungerford from Team WI 17 AAU and Wild Rose HS.

On the right is Julie Wojta, Team WI Select 16 AAU, Mishicot HS, scoring as Val Schuster of Team WI 17 AAU, Wausau Newman HS reaches out to block the shot that has already been kissed off the glass.

This was the championship game of the Memorial Day Classic in Menomoniee.
The Team WI Select 16s beat Team WI 17s 53-35. Here is the link to that game with the player ratings and details. Memorial Day Classic Championship.

Next up: this evening with the MN Metro Stars White 16s vs MN Summit Blue in the Hopkins AAU Event from Sunday.
