The North beat the South in the UP All Star Classic 79-63. Marquette's Nicole Grengs led the north with 17 points. She will be attending Northern Michigan in the fall. More on the game can be found on the Escanaba Daily Press.

Tyrone Doleman has been named the new coach at Minneapolis Washburn. Last year he was an assistant at Washburn.

Kacia Gillette, Hononegah, IL grad, who plays with Northern Illinois, underwent back surgery. She had two small fractures in the back and has had spinal fusion. Her future basketball days are in doubt. Here is more from the Beloit Daily News.

BROBACK'S PLANS
Apparently Jamie Broback will be traveling in Europe this next year, and then prepare for the 2007 WNBA draft. Minnesota has not released her from her scholarship. You can read about it in the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
