COACHING NEWS
As stated here before, Ted Riverso has been named an assistant at Minnesota. Here is the Gopher Press release.
Nancy Darsch, former Ohio State coach, has been hired as an assistant at Boston College. Darsch was an assistant with the Lynx from 2003-05. She also was head coach with the NY Liberty, and Washington Mystics. Here is more from the CSTV site.

TRANSFERS
Kansas State players, JoAnn Hamlin and Twiggy McIntyre will transfer from the NIT champs. No destination has been named. Here is more from the Kansas City Star.
Stephanie Darden, a second team JUCO all american at Genesee CC in NY, is headed to the University of Bridgeport. Here is the Bridgeport press release.
Minnesota is receiving an official visit from a 6-3 Australian according to the Pioneer Press.

USA 18 NATIONAL TEAM/FIBA AMERICAS
Brittainey Raven, Texas has been selected to make the 18u National team. The team will play in the FIBA Americas championships June 28-July 2 in Colorado Springs. Doug Bruno, coach at DePaul will be the coach of the squad. The rest of the team is also listed here. The article on Raven is from the Texas Longhorn site. TOURNAMENT
This week's tournament is down in Ames, IA hosted by the All Iowa Attack. Here is the schedule for the Adidas Iowa Midwest Classic. MN teams involved include North Tartan, and MN Stars. Pool play is on Friday and Saturday with championships slated for Sunday.

KATIE SMITH
Here is an article from the Detroit Free Press on Smith, her dad, and dentistry. Smith played for the Lynx for 7 years.

THORPE STATUS
Coach Thorpe is now gathering his thoughts and putting them on paper. He is writing a book and will be working on that this summer. A publication date is scheduled for the fall. There is no title as of yet, but it will deal with aspects of coaching/parenting. You will be able to order it from the site when it is available.
