Comparisions with AAU, HS, and WNBA

HS/AAU/WNBA COMPARISION
Here is a look at the pp100 and floor % with HS, AAU, and the WNBA for the games I have seen this last year. Execution is better at the HS level than the AAU probably due to longer practice time together.
A general truism for the AAU--the younger you go the efficiency drops. The anomoly is at 19s where efficiency drops again.
At the HS level, the higher the class, the better the efficiency.

the higher numbers are due to higher skilled offensive players, which is what you would expect at the professional level.
All these numbers show who can play offense. The cream rises to the top.

DAKOTA SHOWCASE THIS WEEK
The Dakota Showcase begins on Thursday this week June 29 to July 1, at the Elmen Center at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. Iowa Select I is the defending champions. They recently took top honors at the Bloomington Jefferson tournament.
Next year the event will expand to 32 teams with the addition of the new practice facility at Augustana.

In the Mid Michigan All Star game Chelsea Ciba, Olivet HS to Western Michigan, stole the ball and made the winning lay up in a 72-70 win for the East over the West. She led both squads with 25 points. Here is more on Ciba, and the all star match up from the Lansing State Journal.

BADGER STATE GAME RESULTS

Here is what happened in the Badger State Games this weekend: in the scholastic B level Osseo-Fairchild won the title over Seymour. In the A Scholastic Chippewa Falls beat Wisconsin (Milwaukee) Ladystars. Here are more results from the WFRV web site.

DOUBLE NCAA TOURNAMENT?
Here is the push to double the amount of teams in the NCAA D1 tournament. Most of the push is coming from the men's side. Some coaches have advocated adding six more teams. Logistics have to be worked out from sites to TV. Article is from the Pioneer Press on a AP story.
