This game actually took place today in the Blooomington Jefferson Tournament 17/19 Division
IBCA Iowa Select I 56, Team WI 17 Select 47
The main difference in this game was the physical bodies of Iowa. They were stronger and bigger than Wisconsin. That difference carried Iowa to a 56-47 win. Both teams executed well at the start with points scored on both their first two possessions. Quilling opened the scoring for Wisconsin, Krei answered for Iowa. The game was fairly tight early on with the game tied at 11, 20, and 22. Wisconsin's last lead came at 23-22 after an Ericka Derks free throw. Kelsey Bolte gave Iowa the lead for good with a basket on an out of bounds play. The game continued to be tight as Iowa led 28-27 at halftime. There were no great droughts or strings in this half.
The game tipped Iowa's way early in the second half as they had a 12-2 run to start. Kelsey Cermak had 4 points during the stretch. Wisconsin was suffering from a five possession drought at this time. Wisconsin did close the margin to 48-41, but Rachel Madrigal knocked down two free throws and after WI closed again to 7, scored a lay up for insurance purposes. Late in the contest WI had another 5 possession dry spell. Iowa had bushed the lead to 56-43 at that point. The longest IA dry patch was right at the end with four possessions.

Iowa not only had the bigger stronger players, but they were more aggressive offensively. They scored 11 free throws, Wisconsin managed to hit four. WI relied on the 3 ball game, but that wasn't working.
