A LOOK AT THE LYNX
Yikes. A miserable first quarter against San Antonio, a team they beat 86-79 in San Antonio a week before, ended any hopes of a repeat this week as SA jumped out to a 32-8 lead.

BY THE NUMBERS
Minnesota 60, 82, 73.2, .378
San Antonio 90, 83, 108.4, .482

This was the worst loss for MN looking at pp100, and the second worst loss in floor % differential (the worst was to Houston). MN offensive pp100 dropped from 110.3 last week to 73.2 a difference of 37.1. The floor % #s dropped from .538 to .378 a difference of .160. San Antonio #s didn't jump all that much--from 101 to 108 (up 7) and 474 to .482 (up .008). The pace of the game was somewhat quicker with MN having four more possessions. The main factor was MN had 11 less scoring possessions this week.
MN went 5:26 minutes without scoring in the dreadful first quarter. 11 possessions came & went with out finding the bottom of the basket. Also in the first quarter SA had scoring strings of 5 and 4.
In the second quarter SA & MN both had droughts of five, but SA was able to snap out of it with a string of six (12-2 run). MN was only able to put together another drought of five.
SA did have droughts of 6 and 7 in the third quarter. MN was able to string five possessions together for a 9-0 run, but even then the score was 50-34 after that burst of offensive fireworks.
For the game in the lay up category, as told to me by the official sheet (which had problems), SA was 13/20 on the night and 8/10 in the first quarter blitz. MN was only 6/15 on the night.
Right now there are only 3 Lynx that meet the gold standard of +100 pp100 and +.500 floor % for the year:
Simone Augustus 116.3, .542
Svetlana Abrosimova 114.1, .500
Adrian Williams 101.5, .600
Only Abrosmiova reached the gold standard for this game for MN. SA had both Johnsons and Bibrzyka reach the milestone.

PHOTOS FROM MN METRO STARS15/TOTAL PACKAGE
The Second Half Action (TP Offense)
Photo #1 has Danielle Daniels with a pull up jumper. P#2 has Brittany Dyshaw with a lay up & foul. P#3 has Hudnell with a turn & seal in the post. P#4 shows Theairra Taylor with TP's only 3 of the game.

P#4 (Sequence) has Daniels ready to drive. P#5 she penetrates and pulls up for the shot. P#6 Dyshaw grabs the rebound. P#7 she finds Hudnell off the double team and passes to Jamelia Hudnell. P#8 Hudnell goes up for the basket.

P#9 is a wide shot of the general defense. Off ball defense does not have the knees bent, which will make them slower as they try to move laterally, or try to stop penetration. Even on the ball defense is a tad too high. Players need to be lower than the person dribbling. Most players (and this is true for all AAU teams I have seen this year) have the wrong visual focus once their player gets the ball & hasn't used the dribble. They either look at the offensive players eyes, or the ball. They need to look at the belly button as that is the area of the body hardest to fake. There are no hula dancers in this AAU league. Again, both teams suffered from being to vertical on defense.

P#10 Dyshaw up for the layup. P#11 Nicole Anderson slips inside for two. P#12 (sequence action) Molitor starts the drive to the baseline. P#13 she is stops and spins around Kayla Bloom. P#14 she finishes with the basket. P#15 Taylor passes to a teammate in the left corner after penetrating the lane.

P#16 the after affects of a foul on Carolyn Mobley as she goes in for a lay up. P#17 Taylor's baseline drive from the left side.
