#10 Hopkins beat #8 Edina in a key Classic Lake game 44-40. Hopkins moves to 14-7, 3-1 in the Classic Lake. Edina is 17-3, and 1-3 in the Classic Lake.

Edina led 19-18 at half time.

Hopkins made more free throws than Edina attempted (14/19 to 6/12).

Jackie Hiebert had 20 to lead Hopkins. Steph Sension had 11, for 31 points from the posts.

The Youngs provided 25 points for Edina, Taylor 14, Lauren 11.

North Branch beat #1 Benilde-St. Margaret's 43-39 in North Suburban action. It snapped a 64 game conference winning streak for BSM. Gabrielle Olson had 16 for North Branch, with 3 3s and 5/7 at the line down the stretch. NB has now won 7 in a row after starting the season 5-9

NB led 21-18 at half time.

North Branch led 37-26 with 6 minutes left. BSM came within two at 41-39. Olson nailed two free throws for the final margin for NB.

LaToya Williams had 12 for BSM. She had 2 in the first half. Brittany Mayclin had 11.

BSM is now 17-4, 14-1 in the North Suburban. NB is now 12-9, 8-7 in the NS.
