MINNESOTA REPORTS
The first #1 seed fell last night: in the 3A north subsection RTR was ambushed by Dawson-Boyd 53-47. In the reports below the # indicates the seed in the section.

8: #5 Elk River beat #4 Alexandria 64-42 in an upset of seeds, but ER has a stronger schedule and that helped in the victory. From the Elk River Star News.
In a bigger upset #6 Buffalo beat #3 Brainerd on the road 72-70 in two overtimes. From the Brainerd Dispatch.
#1 Moorhead rolled to a 95-63 win over St. Cloud Apollo. St. Cloud Apollo Junior Andrea Hagberg reached 1,000 points (exactly).
#2 St. Cloud Tech advanced with a 55-39 win over Bemidji. plus other recaps From the St. Cloud Times.

2: #1 Marshall began their post season with a solid 68-32 win over Dassel-Cokato. From the Marshall Independent.
#4 Mankato West got some revenge over Hutchinson with a 63-44 win. Hutch beat MW earlier in the year. From the Mankato Free Press.
#2 Worthington moved on with a 74-63 win over Mankato East. From the Mankato Free Press.
There was another #6 upset in overtime of a #3. New Ulm pulled the trick on Litchifeld 49-46. From the New Ulm Journal.

4: #1 Becker trounced Sauk Rapids 83-40
#4 Princeton defeated Annandale 44-32
#3 St. Michael-Albertville edged Monticello 46-43
#2 Sartell beat Big Lake 78-60

7: #3 Grand Rapids ended last years section champ #6 Hermantown's season 55-36. Plus other recaps in the Duluth News Tribune.
#1 Duluth East smushed Duluth Central 72-21
#5 Milaca beat Cloquet 66-48. Milaca's Maggie Doty is now the top scorer boys & girls with 1207.
#2 Hibbing trounced Duluth Denfeld 66-23

1: West #2 Stewartville halted Rochester Lourdes streak of playing in the west sub section final with a 48-34 win.
East: Caledonia beat PEM 65-59 (check the O&A from last night).

2: West: #1 MVL rolled to a convincing 83-32 win over LCWM. From the New Ulm Journal
other top seeds moved on. #3 Fairmont beat St. Peter 81-51. plus other recaps in the Fairmont Sentinel. #2 LeSueur-Hencerson moved forward with a 61-21 win over USC. #4 Blue Earth beat Maple River 64-42.
On the East side Blooming Prairie beat Kenyon-Wanamingo 48-45; Hayfield topped Triton 74-39; and NRHEG edged Montgomery-Lonsdale 42-41.

3. The West Central Tribune has coverage of the North half games led by Lac Qui Parle Valley's 74-58 win over Yellow Medicine East. In that game Mindy Clark passed another Mindy (Schirm) to become the all time leading scorer at LQPV. Clark has 1190.
In the South half St. James beat Redwood Valley 69-39. In the game St. James' Breau Miller joined the 1000 point club. Teammate Anna Tuura made the club last week. Miller is the 10th St. James player to hit the 1000 mark. From the Mankato Free Press. The New Ulm Journal has some other recaps too.

In the South half #1 SW Star survived Murray County Central 61-55 and #2 seed (#2 in the state) Fulda topped Edgerton 60-40. Edgerton's Amy Kallemeyn passed Dean Veenhof (1961) of the famous Edgerton boys state champion team of 1960 with 1896 points. From the Worthington Daily Globe.

7: Cook County edged Orr 39-37; Cromwell ended Fond du Lac's season 62-16; Isle beat Lakeview Christian 83-36.
