1AA West Sub Section Semifinals
KINGSLAND knights 46, PINE ISLAND panthers 41


Kingsland broke open a tight contest and closed with a 16-10 run to move into the sub section finals. There were four ties in the first half. Kingsland led early 8-5, but Pine Island took the lead at 3:35 to go with a rebound basket by Tina Maley. PI maintained the lead the rest of the half to go to the locker room up 21-18.

After haltime Kingsland drilled two straight 3s on the first two possessions, one by Paisley Larson, one by Emily Greiner to retake the lead 24-21. There would be four more lead changes. PI took their last lead at 8:43 on a back cut by Jade Nielsen to go up 31-30. Kingsland answered on the very next possession with a three from the left corner by Corbin Carlson. That initiated a 9-0 run that had Kingsland up 39-31. The lead remained at the 8/7 split. It was a 45-35 game with 1:06 left. Whitney Carlson hit a 3 for PI and then PI added three free throws down the stretch to cut the margin to 46-41.
