Platteville Upsets Whitewater

D1 REPORTS
Oakland bumped off UMKC 82-55. Pewamo-Westphalia's Nicole Piggott had 28 points for Oakland. Piggott was also named Midcontinent player of the week last week. St. Paul Central's Marta Waalen did not score for UMKC.

Valparaiso topped Chicago State 57-46. Prior Lake's Tamra Braun had 9 points for Valpo. Mpls North's Faith Buchanan had 10 for Chicago State.

INDEPENDENT
Emily Moran of North Dakota State was named player of the week by the indenpendents.

St. Cloud State's Jackie Carlson was named player of the week in the North Central Conference.

The NCC also named their All Academic squad and Katie Winkelman of UM Duluth made the list for the third time.

Northern State's Noelle Hall was named player of the week in the Northern Sun.

The MIAC playoffs begin tonight with Carleton hosting St. Thomas. Can't go? you can watch and listen on the internet from the Carleton preview page.

In the other play off game St. Catherine travels to Concordia Moorhead.

Sarah Lincoln of Carleton was MIAC player of the week.

WIAC
The WIAC started their tournament last night with four quarterfinals.

Platteville stunned Whitewater 75-74 on Lisa Grantman's three-point play with 4.6 left. Colby's Liz Tesch had 29 for Platteville. Waukesha South's Sarah Moran had 16 for Whitewater.

Eau Claire beat LaCrosse 67-62. Thorp's Heidi Arciszewski had 22 for Eau Claire. Nicole Palmer had 12 for LaCrosse.

Stout beat Oshkosh 71-54. Clinton's Kelsey Duoss had 23 for Stout. Oshkosh West's Whitney Tyriver had 21 for Oshkosh.

River Falls beat Stevens Point 76-69. North Branch's Traci Reimann had 19 for RF. Two Rivers' Laura Neuenfeldt and Wausau East's Haley Houghton had 15 for SP.

JUCO
Central Lakes made the state tournament for the first time since 2003 as they beat Rainy River 66-49.

NDSCS kathumped, trumped and dumped United Tribes 117-36. From the Wahpeton Daily News.
