ROGERS BREAKDOWN TIP OFF
MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH tigers 72, FULDA raiders 36

The Mpls South pressure defense didn't allow defending State A champ Fulda a chance to breathe in the second game. Fulda had one string of 1/21 possessions in the first half. They also had another 8 possession drought in the first half. South also had droughts, but they weren't as severe. There was one sequence where South was 1/9. South had a 21 point half time lead 35-14

Fulda scored more in the second half, but never really got to do what they wanted on offense. The early portion of the half saw both teams combining for a 12/17 scoring outburst a floor % of 70.6%. Fulda's Kaitlyn Kramer who was A player of the year in the MN basketball news only had four points at half. She scored the first 8 points for Fulda in the second half. South's Tayler Hill stroked down 30 points, 6 on three point plays--four from behind the arc, 2 old school.

South was close to gold this day. The opposition, even though an A team, is still a strong team and the defense South is the reason for their success. South does not get out of control. They deliver the goods. The limitations they have are inside. If Cheese gets too many fouls it would be a bad situation. The other post players need to get stronger faster quicker soon for South to be a force later in the year. The guards are money.
