DICK'S SPORTING GOODS HOPKINS TOURNAMENT
7TH PLACE GAME
TARTAN titans 42, BRECK mustangs 39

Breck rallied from a 32-22 deficit with 11 minutes to go in the game to tie it at 36--a 14-4 run with six straight scoring possessions led by Kara Elofson with 6 points. Tartan veteran Jenny Hooper broke the tie, and then Katie Haas delivered the last four points in a game that went down to the wire. Breck's Jamie Erdahl delivered five 3s in the second half, six for the game.

This was the lowest, timing consuming possession game of the four today. Each team milked each possession to make sure they had the choicest shot around. Breck really worked it around against the zone. But Breck also had droughts of five and six in the first half which were huge considering there were only 23 possessions to go around that half and Tartan led 21-11 at the break.

In the second half Tartan led 32-22 when Breck rolled off six scoring possessions to go on a 14-4 run. Only two 3s were involved by Breck. Earlier in the half Jamie Erdahl drained two consecutive 3s from the right and left corner. Tartan broke the tie at about the five minute mark on Jenny Hooper's shot in the paint. Katie Haas added it to the margin two possessions later with an out of bounds basket to make it 40-36. Erdahl connected once again with the three ball with about 3 minutes to go. Tartan turned it over and Breck had a chance to take the lead, but they also threw it away and Lauren Pallowski was there for the steal, but she missed her chance to pad the lead. Breck got the ball back with 1:48 to go, and had a shot, Lauren Himle grabbed the rebound and Breck took a time out with 1:34 to go. The ensuing pass was snatched by Pallowski again and Tartan worked it down to 1:00 to go when they took their time out. This time it was Tartan's turn for the turnover and Erdahl made the steal, but Breck never got it across the time line in the 10 seconds allotted and Tartan had the ball with 47.1 ticks to go. This time Katie Haas scored on the possession for the final margin. Breck didn't get a shot off on their last possession and Haas made the steal. With 1.8 seconds Pallowski was fouled, but Tartan was not near the bonus.
