MPLS ROOSEVELT 66, HOPKINS 65
Roosevelt's biggest lead in the second half was one point, three times. Their first lead came at approximately 5:07 to go at 59-58 and then it teetertottered back and forth.
Hopkins Caitlin Rowland made two free throw at 2:12 for a 63-60 lead.
At 2:01 Marshall drove the leftside of the lane and was fouled for an and one, she missed the free throw and got her own rebound and scored for a 64-63 Roosevelt lead.
On Hopkins next possession Jackie Hiebert missed a runner in the lane with 1:45.
Roosevelt went into a delay game and Strickland was fouled with 1:22 to go. She missed both tosses.
Hopkins came down with 55 seconds Hiebert missed a 10 footer, and Rowland missed the put back.
Roosevelt got the team rebound. Aune was fouled and she missed two free throw with 45 seconds.
With 30 seconds Hiebert scored in the lane to put Hopkins back in front 65-64.
With 11 seconds to go Marshall drove left, reverses right makes a short runner for the final margin 66-65.
With 2 foot to go Hiebert passed to Sension who missed at the buzzer.
Roosevelt tackled each other as if they won the state title.
Roosevelt pressured Hopkins throughout the game and forced 31 turnovers.
Aune hit three 3s in a row in the first part of the second half to get Roosevelt close within 3. Aune's fourth 3 tied the game at 58 with about 6 minutes to go.
Hopkins led by 11 late in the first half 32-21. Roosevelt's biggest lead was 14-10.
Marshall took control of the game in the last two minutes.
Roosevelt's Kiswana McCloud fouled out with 14 minutes to go, her 5th was a technical.
Hanna Muegge for Hopkins had foul trouble. Johnson came off the bench and played well.
Roosevelt played man.
