Utah kept the Big 10 from winning all their games yesterday with a 80-69 win over Northwestern. Breck's Melissa Miller had a career high 16 for NW.
DePaul beat crosstown rival Chicago Loyola 97-70 in the San Juan Shootout.
South Dakota State raced past San Jose State 98-63. SDSU opened with an 18-1 lead.
Iowa State beat Illinois State 74-67. It was a "dogfight" according to the Des Moines Register. Megan Ronhovde of West Central had five, Amanda Nisleit of Woodbury did not score for Iowa State.
Illinois Chicago beat Northern Illinois 80-62. Two Holy Angels players faced each other. Jessie Miller had one point and five assists a starter for UIC, while Kristin Wiener had 6 for NIU as a starter. Eastview's Cassie Johnson had 2 off the bench for UIC.
Central Arkansas knocked out UMKC 74-62. Wayzata's Jowan Ortega was scoreless as a starter for UMKC.
Detroit beat East Carolina 62-57 in Cancun.
