TARTAN INVITATIONAL
WOODBURY royals 70,
MINNEAPOLIS ROOSEVELT teddies 34
Roosevelt led early 5-0 scoring three of the their first four possessions. But soon fouls but players on the bench. Roosevelt subbed 3 smaller players in and the mojo shifted right then and there. Roosevelt's last lead came at 7-6. Woodbury had the speed to match Roosevelt and six of their first seven scoring possessions ended in result of lay ups. Roosevelt went 1/14 for their next possessions and never got their mojo back. Woodbury had a 31-8 run to end the half. Woodbury led 38-15.
It never really changed in the second half. More Roosevelt fouls. Roosevelt not getting into an offensive flow against the pressure full court or the zone. In fact in the second half Roosevelt scored four 3s, but only made two regular field goals.

BY THE NUMBERS
Woodbury 70, 70, 100.0, .471
Mpls Roosevelt 34, 70, 48.6, .229
Made FT: Woodbury 30, Roosevelt 7
Made 3s: Roosevelt 5, Woodbury 2
Roosevelt is hurt by not having Porsha Zimmerman run their point. She is not on the roster. Marshall is not a bad, but Zimmerman had zip and quickness. Also it hurts their depth. Kiswana McCloud, former South player, was on the roster, but she was not in the gym again hurting their depth. When the three smaller players came in, they might have been quicker, but they were not ready to face the intense pressure of Woodbury.
Woodbury was more aggressive in attacking the basket with 30 made free throws to Roosevelt's 7.
Woodbury is better offensively this year, but they are still not great perimeter shooters save Thone. Woodbury plays intense defense and is a system team. All the players do what is needed and are sound defensively. They anticipate well. and finished.
