Fall League
White Division
Eden Prairie 34, Andover 26

Today was the opening of the MN Fall League at 9 different sites around the area. I will be going to different sites each weekend and today I was at Forest Lake in the White Division the 2nd highest division in the fall league. The opening game I saw was Eden Prairie vs Andover. It was EP's second game of the day. They beat Hopkins in the 9 am eye opener. It was Andover's first game.

Andover opened the game with a basket on their first possession, but they were to only score one more field goal the entire half. EP was able to find the basket more effectively with Heather Cook knocking down two threes and Carly Rothfuz adding 7 in a 19-8 EP lead.
Andover was able to cut the margin to six at 22-16, but EP responded with five points in the next two possessions to push the led back to 27-16. Andover's #2 provided 8 points in the second half, and Andover outscored EP 18-15, but it wasn't enough.

There are no programs, so if any folks know the #s email me. Go to my profile to contact me.

Deena Ewert 0, 3, 0.0, .000 post player. RF: I was expecting more out of Ewert. Needs to aggressively look for her shot, and control the boards. Needs to dominate, stand out among opponents and raise her team. I didn't get that feeling today from her play.

Carly Rothfuz

BY THE NUMBERS
Eden Prairie 34, 49, 69.4, .347
Andover 26, 49, 53.1, .265

As you can see the numbers are pretty dismal. I am guessing not much practice time together. For some players the first time they are back in a competitive environment since July; some maybe even longer. EP had the advantage of playing earlier. The win over Hopkins has to give them a boost and they have improved, but my gut says they will be lower than the middle of the pack in the brutal Lake Conference.
Both of these schools will have new head coaches at the start of practice.
Cook and Ewert were teammates at North Tartan Blue this summer.
