GOPHERS
There is a battle for the starting center spot on the Gopher squad with Ashley Ellis-Milan (St. Paul Central) and Zoe Harper vying for the position. Minnesota opens its Exhibition season tonight at 7 pm against MSU Mankato. From the StarTribune.

FORMER BADGERS NOW ASSISTANTS
Three former Wisconsin Badgers are now working as assistants at the D1 level: Stephanie Rich at St. Louis, Kyle (Black) Rechlicz at Dayton, and Annie (Nelson) Thomas at Cleveland State. From a test blog at the Capital Times.

MISSOURI VALLEY
Drake is picked as the #1 team to beat in the Missouri Valley Conference. You can listen to audio of the Media Day held yesterday.

Minot State played their third game on Sunday and topped Brandon 86-45. Kendra Meyer (Prior Lake) had 18 to lead MSU.
