AAU NEWS
The Minnesota Fury is looking for talented girls basketball players for their 13U and 14U teams. Teams are by invitation only; they will NOT be having tryouts. Bill Larson, director of North Tartan, is traveling this weekend to Beaverton, Oregon for the annual Nike Girls Basketball Board of Directors meetings. Nike is flying in the 28 most elite girls basketball clubs directors' from across the United States. Some of the other clubs that are represented this weekend are: Cal Swish, Tennessee Flight, Boo Williams, West Coast Elite, Florida Essence and the Team Nike Family. Its a weekend full of basketball talk and Nike meetings.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Jeff Laboe is the new assistant at Minneapolis Community Technical College. Laboe has been an assistant Central Connecticut State University, and Appalachian State University. He also was a director of basketball operations at Southwest Missouri State (now known as Missouri State). Laboe is a graduate of Osseo and Iowa State.

Lake Region State is young with only three sophomores, but they do have a 6-5 post in Kate Sharkova of Minsk, Belarus. From the Devils Lake Journal.
