MYAS FALL LEAGUE
Blue Division
HOPKINS 40, OSSEO WHITE 32

A 14-0 run propelled Hopkins to victory over Osseo White in a defensive struggle for the top spot in the Blue Division at Armstrong. Hopkins trailed by 7 before they launched their rally. The Royals also were missing the services of Stephanie Sension and Caitlin Rowland who were on college trips over the weekend. Osseo did not split their squad like Centennial. However Danielle Mangen was not present for the Orioles.

Both teams started off sizzling with a combined 7/9 offensive possessions and a floor % of .778 and pp100 of 144.4. Osseo scored on their first five possessions, mainly inside and four from second chancers. Then the bottom dropped out, or should I say the lid was placed on both baskets. Osseo had a seven possession drought and Hopkins had a six and an eight drought with one 3 by Lillemoe breaking up the sequence. That meant Hopkins had a pp100 during those 15 possessions of 20 pp100 and an ice cold floor % of .067. Osseo led at half 16-12.

Hopkins scored the first four points of the second half to tie it at 16. Osseo quickly responded with a 7-0 run of their own to take a 23-16 lead. Sammi Butler had five of the points, 3 from behind the arc. Then it was into the deep freeze for the Orioles for nine trips, five ending up turnovers. Hopkins chose that time to go on their 14-0 run. Lillemoe started it off with a trey. The Royals then strung five possessions together to retake the lead 30-23. Muegge had seven straight points in this outburst. Butler nailed one deep, but Lillemoe answered on the very next possession to maintain the margin. Osseo had one last gasp where they closed the margin to 33-30 after a Gottsman rebound basket. Hopkins closed out the rest of the game at the line with seven points out of eight chances.
